Counter the Rising Cost of Fuel with TRINCON’s Proforma Costing System
October 10, 2008
TRINCON is pleased to launch a powerful new tool designed to help transportation companies evaluate their profitability and counteract the rising cost of fuel.
TRINCON’s Proforma Costing Model, based on the Tru-cost Activity Based Costing System, allows users to build a personalized worksheet modeled after their own profit and loss statement. The easy-to-use, proforma based system ultimately allows users to measure both variable and fixed costs based on distance and time. Both a bulk carrier and OTR version are available.
The proforma worksheet can be customized to provide the user with information specific to revenue per mile, unpaid miles, trip analysis, pricing and profitability on a specific truck or specified customer. It also allows for “what if” scenarios created by the user, for example, what if I add trucks, increase or decrease deadhead, or operating miles per truck? The Proforma Costing Model will allow customers to understand how their decisions will affect their profits.
TRINCON president Duff Swain said, “This new system will allow trucking companies to stay competitive and hopefully under budget during these times of rising fuel costs and economic uncertainty. Users will be able to see how changing various factors affect their bottom line and adjust their company’s structure to ensure profits.”
